The Reinforcements

What's wood filament?

Usually PLA (sometimes PETG) with fine wood particles mixed in, so prints look and feel like wood.

Meet WudiWudi looks like wood and sands like wood. Underneath: still plastic.

Base plasticusually PLA or PETGMixed inwood powder

Nozzle 190–270 °C · Bed 60–100 °C

Prusa, for wood- and metal-filled filaments (depends on the base). Typical ranges from one maker’s data sheet. Brands differ: the label on your spool wins.

Why it matters

  • Prints can be sanded and stained like wood for a weathered look.
  • The particles weaken the part and its layer bonds, so keep it for decor.

Tips from the workshop

  • Use at least a 0.6 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layers so the particles do not clog it (unless the maker says otherwise).
