The studio

How we make it

Model it. Prove it fits. Print it. Film it. Share it.

01

Design

Modelled in CAD, tested until it fits.

  • Autodesk Fusion

    Parametric CAD.

    How we use it

Every part starts at the origin in its print orientation, one component per part, driven by named parameters (coaster size, wall, fit clearance), so a whole set resizes from one number.

  • Fit tests

Small prints that answer one question.

    How we use it

Before a design ships, the joints get their own test print: five versions of a peg or rail, each a little looser. We keep the one that fits and write down why.

02

Develop

Electronics, code and animation.

  • The Print Labbuilt by us

    Our printing notebook.

    How we use it

Every print is logged with its material, settings and result, and every failure gets a cause and a fix. The rules it taught us go into every new design.

  • Aseprite

    Pixel art.

    How we use it

The crew's sprites, every effect and the pixel scenes on this site are drawn in Aseprite from code, so a whole library stays consistent.

  • Our animation studiobuilt by us

A code-first 2D animation studio we built ourselves.

    How we use it

Stick-figure shorts written as scripts: poses, physics, timing, camera and sound, all in TypeScript. It animates the crew for our videos.

  • Electronics

    LEDs, microcontrollers and pixel panels.

    How we use it

The glow in the name signs, and the brains of the builds to come.

03

Deliver

Files, guides and videos for you.

  • Bambu Studio

The slicer, for a Bambu Lab X1C with AMS.

    How we use it

Our own script writes plate-ready 3MF files with every setting and colour already assigned, so a Build Kit opens and prints with no setup.

  • Blender

    3D rendering and animation.

    How we use it

Product videos straight from the CAD files: exploded views, parts dropping into place, a record spinning in its crate.
