The Reinforcements

What's glass-fiber filament?

A base polymer, often nylon, PETG, PC or PP, with short glass fibers mixed in for strength and stability.

Meet GeoffGeoff is G for glass, F for fiber: Corbin’s glassy cousin, same trick with a different fiber.

Nozzle 240–285 °C · Bed 70–110 °C

Prusa, for fiber-filled filaments (depends on the base). Typical ranges from one maker’s data sheet. Brands differ: the label on your spool wins.

Why it matters

  • Like carbon fiber, glass fiber stiffens the base plastic and helps it hold its shape and heat.
  • It is just as abrasive, and parts are more brittle than the plain plastic.

Tips from the workshop

  • Hardened steel nozzle only.
  • Print it like its base plastic: the label tells you which.
