What's a raft?
A thick, throwaway platform printed under the part, which comes off after printing.
- Made ofa few thick layers

Why it matters
- It can level out an uneven bed and help tricky materials stick.
- Parts with tiny feet get a big, solid base to stand on.
Tips from the workshop
- Try a brim first: less plastic and a cleaner bottom.
- Modern printers with a level, textured bed rarely need one.
