Filament

What's PLA?

The most popular filament: easy to print, made from plant starch, and great for almost anything indoors.

Meet PaulaPaula is everywhere and easy to get along with, but melts under pressure (and in a hot car).

Why it matters

  • The easiest filament to start with: little warping, little smell.

Tips from the workshop

  • Keep PLA parts out of hot cars and direct summer sun.
  • Not for hot drinks: a mug coaster is fine, a cup is not.
