The Plastics

What's polycarbonate (PC)?

Polycarbonate: very tough, strong and heat-resistant, and one of the hardest common filaments to print.

Meet PercyPercy is the shield: tough, and takes the hits.

Nozzle 250–270 °C · Bed 90–105 °C

Polymaker PolyLite PC. Typical ranges from one maker’s data sheet. Brands differ: the label on your spool wins.

Why it matters

  • For parts that must take heat and hard knocks.
  • It warps a lot, so large flat parts are a challenge.

Tips from the workshop

  • Dry it before printing (Polymaker: 75 °C for 6 hours) and keep it dry.
  • Use an enclosure.
