Filament

What's carbon fibre filament?

A base plastic (PLA, PETG or nylon) filled with tiny chopped carbon fibres: stiff, light and matte.

Meet CarbyCarby is a stiff, heavy tank. Light hits don't even register.

Our rough guide, 1 to 5. Brands differ: always check the label.

Why it matters

  • Parts flex much less, and layer lines nearly disappear.

Tips from the workshop

  • The fibres are abrasive: they wear out a brass nozzle quickly.
  • Check which plastic it is based on, and print it like that.
